Welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you found me by some random search, I'm glad you're here! If you found me because you know me personally, I'm also glad you're here! I'm just glad someone is reading my ramblings!

This blog was a bit of a dream for me for a long time, and I'm honestly using it as a creative outlet where I can share my love of coffee, cats, and all the random craft projects I take up. Recently, because I've been getting more into photography, I thought this might be a good place to share some of that as well. So, please stick with me while I get my bearings.

So, if you haven't read the "About Me" yet, here's what you missed: I'm a mom of two boys, three cats, and I have a great husband who loves to cook. He and I share a passion for Japanese culture, traditions, aesthetics, and a few other little things that come from that little corner of East Asia (e.g. anime, video games, food). I'm working on balancing my personal life and my work life, so I'm trying to find more time to do things that I enjoy, like crafting and drinking my coffee... slowly... without interruptions! I also play video games, primarily an online role playing game called Final Fantasy XIV, which I've been playing since 2009 (if you know, you know!).

As you'll see around my blog, I had three kitties that I love to take photos of. Mu was my eldest and I had her since high school. She past away in the summer of 2024. Apollo we picked up right before we got married in 2011, and Circe is the newest addition and was an addition while I was coping with the isolation of the pandemic in 2020, but we love her all the same.

Another thing you might find as you meander through is that I'm dealing with my own mental health struggles all while coping with the stresses that come along with having children with neurodivergence; one kiddo is off the charts ADHD and the other has a speech disorder, potentially autism, and most likely ADHD as well (time will tell as he gets older). But we are working through it and trying to find what works best for our family with the resources we have (including very little time).

One last thing and then I'll let you go: so my husband and I have been on a little bit of a journey over the last several months, primarily around how we can eat more diversely, save money, and take better care of our health. Through that he's lost over 80 lbs and I'm coming up on 50 lbs down. Now, I don't like to cook and I often forget to eat, so this is entirely in his realm, not mine! But if occasionally you get a food focused post or a series of recipes dumped on you, you can thank him, not me!

So there you have it! A (hopefully) quick read about me, my goals, and just a little bit about what you can expect to read in this little corner of the world. I hope you stick around! Until next time! - J
